Centre-Based Programs
• Registered and drop-in play-based learning opportunities; the majority of which are offered free of charge.
• A French Program includes circle, story time and an opportunity for French families to connect as a group.
• Caregiver Playgroup-Caregivers and the children in their care gather to share resources, consult with Home Child Care Support and participate in programming focusing on home child care.
• A toy lending library provides toys to borrow for home use.
Community Playgroups
• Parent/child drop-in playgroups are offered weekly at a number of neighbourhood sites (schools, churches, libraries, community centres); each program is unique depending on the location.
• Healthy Parents, Healthy Children is offered at the Limberlost Community Centre. Childreach provides a parent-child drop-in, workshops, and one-on-one support.
• Young Moms and Children Program provides fun, friendships, weekly discussions, food, encouragement, support and workshops.
• Playgroups for newcomers and their families.
Parent Education
• Parent Education ranges from 1 hour mini-workshops to 6 week courses, and are offered in our centre as well as many community locations. Topics include toilet training, discipline, bullying and self-esteem.
• Visits to community playgroups
• One-on-one support
• Post-partum adjustment support
• Parent Educators are available to facilitate workshops in the community by request.
ECE Resource Centre
• The ECE Resource Centre is located on the second floor and houses a library, educational kits, a workroom with laminator and die-press machines, information about childcare choices and a classroom.
• Professional development workshops
• Consultations include program observation, evaluation, recommendations and one-on-one supports
